Navigating the turbulent skies of the aviation industry, AerMach stands out as a global provider of aftermarket supply chain solutions. It is an integral strategic partner in aircraft repair and maintenance, offering critical support services to airlines and MROs to enhance aircraft operability.

AerMach supports clients in three effective ways. First, it supplies top-notch used serviceable materials (USM) for economical and eco-friendly operations. It also provides specialized engine management guidance during MRO shop visits to ensure engines are optimally serviced for peak performance. When the parts reach the end of their service life, AerMach assists in material recovery, helping operators gain maximum value. This full-circle approach ensures efficiency and value throughout the aviation components’ lifecycle.

The company’s adaptability to fluctuating market conditions is another cornerstone of its success. Before COVID-19, it concentrated on narrow-body aircraft and engines, such as the CFM56 and V2500. With the decline in demand for these materials, however, the company strategically pivoted, seizing an opportunity presented by the growing need for wide-body aircraft engines and expanding inventory to include more CF6 engines. This strategic move reinforced the company’s ties with existing customers and carved out new opportunities in the wide-body aircraft domain.

“By expanding our product lines and consistently supporting our clients, we have emerged stronger in the post-COVID era. Our clients, acknowledging the partnership we provided in their time of need, are now even more engaged and committed to working with us,” says Rhys Evans, director of AerMach.

At the heart of AerMach’s operation is its focus on supplying high-quality airframe and engine whole assets and components, where USMs play a crucial role. Ensuring clients receive the right parts at the right time addresses the key challenge of raw material costs and shortages.
Junaid Baig, director of AerMach, highlights the benefits of this strategy. “We frequently assist our clients with questions about component compatibility and reliability, guiding them to make well-informed decisions. Our consistent material availability through consignments and direct stock purchases, with the necessary technical documents (TDs), markedly reduces clients’ turnaround time (TAT) and ensures the provision of required parts at fair prices.”

For instance, if an airline is faced with replacing fan blades due to a bird strike, it could cost around $1.5 million for new parts. AerMach’s approach offers a more cost-efficient solution by supplying high-quality USM alternatives, expediting the replacement process and minimising shop visits while accelerating the return to operational status.

AerMach’s material recovery programme complements its cost-effective agenda. The programme involves taking materials, typically discarded by MROs post-repair, under the expert care of AerMach's engine specialists. They assess each item’s recovery, upgrade or resale potential. This minimises waste and enables operators of mid- to large-engine types to generate additional revenue from USM.

Focusing on cost reduction is not the only area where AerMach shines. Its hands-on support in engine shop visits enables clients to save time as well.

Recognising the unique nature and time-intensive aspect of each engine shop visit, AerMach’s in-house MRO experts streamline the process. This begins with custom work scope planning, followed by MRO identification and selection for smooth contract negotiations. Their involvement continues with table inspection and technical management. The team also represents customers at the test cell, verifying that the engine meets all contractual parameters and conducting a post-test bore scope inspection (BSI) before it is cleared for service. Upon completion of the shop visit, AerMach’s team reviews all paperwork and conducts an invoice analysis, ensuring customers are charged only for the services rendered.

Its services also include the review and recovery of missing technical documentation during asset sales. This begins with an initial review of the paperwork submitted by the customer to identify any deficiencies. AerMach then corrects discrepancies and locates essential details like the non-incident statement (NIS), last service date (LSV), and on-and-off logs. This ensures that documents are adequately prepared for the asset’s resale or purchase.

These distinctive services haven’t gone unnoticed. AerMach has been recognised in Wales’ list of the fastest-growing companies and one of the fastest-growing aviation businesses in 2022. Encouraged by this, AerMach is replicating its successful blueprint from Cardiff, South Wales, in its Dubai office, marking expansion into the Middle East.

As its global expansion journey continues, its mission remains steadfast—to walk the path of innovation in the aviation industry and support clients in getting their aircraft back in the air.
