In real time, this IDS is capable of capturing, logging, and monitoring data being transmitted across databus, system log, and IP networks. The IDS will signal an alert if anomalous activity is detected – signifying a potential cyber event. These insights help reveal vulnerabilities to current network security measures, and help strengthen systems in the long-run.
Understanding that cybersecurity is an ever-evolving industry, President Chris Bartlett highlights that a future utilizing trust certificates, alongside private and public key infrastructure, will be necessary to bolster network security even further. This observation inspired the development of a platform Zero Trust solution, which is set to revolutionize the aerospace cybersecurity landscape. “Considering how difficult it can be to trust incoming data, we built a Zero Trust environment to boost the reliability and safety of an aircraft's onboard network,” says Bartlett.
Generating alerts provides the foundation for addressing cyber threats, which is why CCX Technologies has leveraged its experienced team to offer a unique suite of cyber-risk mitigation services. These include an in-house Security Operations Center (SOC), a Managed Security Services team, and a state-of-the-art Cyber Lab. The addition of these services underpin CCX Technologies’ commitment as a full-service platform cybersecurity solutions provider.
The Virtual SOC-as-a-Service and Managed Security Services are designed to provide a comprehensive outlook into the data being relayed from CCX Technologies’ platform cyber solutions. These services will handle dissemination, reporting, and threat-mitigation to address any cyber alerts that have been generated onboard an aircraft. Additionally, CCX Technologies’ Cyber Lab tests existing avionics equipment in simulated scenarios to analyze the strengths and vulnerabilities of specific systems.
More recently, Bartlett recognizes that the use of AI and machine learning (ML) will inevitably become more pervasive in aviation, including single-pilot operations. The emergence of AI technologies was also highlighted in the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) recently released AI Roadmap 2.0 – outlining their comprehensive approach to safely integrating AI and machine learning into the aerospace sector. The regulatory body also published a white paper discussing the applications of AI/ML in aviation and how to approach them from a regulatory standpoint. Aligning with these trends, CCX Technologies has begun to explore methods of monitoring and safeguarding the AI applications being deployed onboard newer aircraft.

The T-RX GPS is designed with an intuitive interface to reduce the time between set-up and testing. It is smaller and lighter than competitive products and, like its companion testers, features a large colour touch screen. The T-RX GPS offers testing on all active SBAS systems including WAAS, EGNOS, GAGAN, and MSAS. It features integrated Wi-Fi and Ethernet, which permits in-the-field software upgrades, feature updates and painless test report generation. Users can add tests as needed and even upgrade to full T-RX RP+ tester capabilities if desired.
