THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
Dave Evans, CEOFictiv’s network is comprised of a select group of small-to-medium-size machine shops and factories, orchestrated by an intelligent operating system that matches customer demand with manufacturing partners’ supply. Fictiv’s proprietary technology and manufacturing team provide sub-second response times on quotes, design for manufacturability feedback, and fast lead times. Sourcing custom parts is easy and efficient, with clients able to get parts when and how they need them.
“We are connecting the two worlds of customer demand and partner supply, helping customers get the information they need at their fingertips,” says Dave Evans, CEO of Fictiv.
The digital quote-to-order platform puts clients in the driver’s seat, keeping them connected and updated during every step of the manufacturing process. The platform makes comparing prices, communicating design requirements, and reviewing design for manufacturing (DfM) feedback simple and efficient.
“Our application and supplier quality engineers always have boots on the ground, working to transform and digitize the antiquated sourcing process currently in place,” adds Evans.
Every part uploaded to the platform receives expert design for manufacturability feedback, including instant automated warnings and customized recommendations from manufacturing engineers as needed. Clients get real-time visibility into the production status of their parts, including photos taken during quality inspections at the partner facility.
The aerospace industry faced a decline due to COVID-19, resulting in a backlog of inventory demand and a slow recovery of the supply base. With Fictiv’s ISO-9001-certified quality management, aerospace clients can get consistent quality across each part and rapidly overcome those challenges.
Fictiv prides itself on manufacturing highly complex components, so its precision CNC machining services are tailor-made for the aerospace and aeronautics industries. Aerospace applications demand intricate designs, incredibly tight tolerances, and high-performance materials, and Fictiv’s high-quality network simplifies sourcing those components. The company is an approved production parts supplier for aerospace enterprises and is verified to be compliant with AS 9100 quality standards by a third-party auditor. The Fictiv platform also ensures that aerospace work goes to manufacturing partners with the necessary certifications.
When the manufacturing engineering team at Honeywell Aerospace started working with Fictiv, they got quotes in minutes instead of days and parts in weeks instead of months—reducing cycle times by 50 percent. This enabled the engineering team to design and validate a critical new component for the company’s RE100 auxiliary power unit (APU) seven times faster than their previous methods.
Fictiv empowers companies to streamline their custom part sourcing workflows, increase engineering capacity, accelerate product innovation, and transform how the next generation of products are designed, developed, and delivered

Description
Fictiv is an operating system (OS) for custom manufacturing that streamlines the process of finding and vetting new suppliers, getting quotes, and keeping track of orders across hundreds or thousands of low-volume suppliers.
After years of searching for a manufacturer willing to tackle the complex prototyping, injection molding, and commercial production of her one-of-a-kind dry shampoo product, Michelle Kim, founder of m'Chel, discovered Fictiv. Not only did Fictiv step up to the challenge of this program where others wouldn't, but Fictiv accelerated time-to-market for Kim significantly and helped get the product to market in just one year—well ahead of schedule.
"Regardless of what facet of the project we were working on—prototyping, tooling, finishing—I had confidence in Fictiv's expertise and knew I was in good hands," said Kim.
Through its global manufacturing network, best-in-class supply chain, and operations teams, supported by Fictiv's AI-powered technology platform, they provided m'Chel with virtually unlimited manufacturing capacity across a wide range of capabilities and ongoing design for manufacturability, program management, and logistics support.
According to Kim, "I went from constantly fighting through manufacturing roadblocks to working with an incredible team who made quality manufacturing a reality." Furthermore, "Fictiv handled everything I normally would have had to do myself, including identifying the right suppliers, sourcing and then manufacturing each part, as well as all the logistics and shipping details."
The patented Day After Brush was produced using Fictiv's market-leading capabilities, including injection molding, overmolding, compression molding, ultrasonic welding, 3D printing, product validation, screen printing, bristle grafting, and design for manufacturability guidance.
"Fictiv simplified the manufacturing process and eliminated many of the barriers I experienced with other manufacturers," said Kim. "Fictiv explained their capabilities and showed me my options, including how to make my product more cost-effective."
"Most factories require minimum order quantities of 10,000 to 100,000 units during low-volume production," said Andy Richardson, VP of Business Development at Fictiv. "That's a large commitment for a new company looking to enter the market. At Fictiv, we don't put those types of restrictions on our customers. We focus on simplifying their full journey from prototyping to production."
By partnering with Fictiv, customers of all sizes can access a Fortune 500-class supply chain, complete with extensive capabilities, hands-on quality management and guided expertise, and a best-in-class technology platform for quoting, DFM, and order tracking to accelerate innovation.
