THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
Masaru Washio, PresidentIts operations are anchored by three core divisions— castings, engineering and construction materials production—each tailored to address the unique challenges of industrial applications, ensuring precision, durability and performance in every product it creates.
The casting division, a cornerstone of Nippon Chuzo since its inception, is where the company truly shines. It manufactures casting products in a range of sizes from several kilograms up to several tons. Using advanced techniques such as ladle atmospheric vacuum degassing and counter-gravity air casting systems, it upholds the highest standards of quality and purity, enabling the production of advanced product castings that provide specific properties like low thermal expansion, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
A prime example of Nippon Chuzo’s casting expertise is the LEX® series—designed for ultra-high-precision equipment. Known for its minimal thermal deformation, the LEX-ZERO® variant offers zero deformation, while LEX55 cuts deformation in half compared to steel. These low thermal expansion materials ensure minimal dimensional variation, a critical factor in defense applications where maintaining accuracy and stability under extreme temperature fluctuations is vital. The LEX® series also has exceptional machinability, making it indispensable for parabolic antennas, radar systems and other essential technologies operating in the demanding environments of space and defense.
What truly sets Nippon Chuzo apart is not only its top-notch quality but its ability to seamlessly integrate next-generation technology with systematic management. By understanding the specific needs of each project, the company crafts solutions that blend the best of casting, forging and 3D printing. Owning the entire 3D printing process—from powder creation to component design—demonstrates Nippon Chuzo’s dedication to innovation. Currently, the company is pioneering new materials for its 3D printers, including advanced invars—a nickel-iron alloy known for its low thermal expansion and ability to withstand high temperatures while remaining non-magnetic.
This innovative spirit is best demonstrated by Nippon Chuzo’s collaboration with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). By using lattice structures—known for their exceptional combination of high strength-to-weight ratio and energy absorption capabilities—the company has achieved an impressive 75 percent reduction in component weight while maintaining their strength properties.
Looking to the future, Nippon Chuzo is advancing its offerings to explore new frontiers. Carrying a strong interest in developing aerospace-related products, the company is poised to keep providing valuable services and high-tech products that meet the diverse needs of its customers.
