Recently, Pilkington Metal Finishing was approached by a global aerospace prime to solve a complex, immediate, and expensive problem. “We worked hand-to-hand to analyze the different options within the spec. We tested multiple pretreatment variables before arriving at a robust solution which included anodize and powder topcoat,” John adds.“It was a partnership endeavor involving experts from Quality, Customer Service, and Production at both the customer and Pilkington”. Today, Pilkington remains a ‘trusted advisor’ to the client as they team together in new product development and performance.

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Pioneer Metal Finishing, LLC ("Pioneer"), a portfolio company of Aterian Investment Partners ("Aterian"), is pleased to announce the acquisition of Electrochem Solutions, Inc. ("Electrochem").
Founded in 1982 and based in Union City, California, Electrochem is a leading metal finishing company in Silicon Valley. Electrochem provides a range of highly technical finishing solutions including gold plating, silver plating, anodizing, electroless nickel, and other services to clients primarily in the semiconductor fabrication equipment end market.

Surface Engineering Academy’s focus on surface engineering and modification stems from the goal of furthering the development and application of optimized product surfaces. While not a new category, the use of legacy technologies, such as anodizing, plating, adhesives and coatings, continues an important evolution to meet the needs of users. This, coupled with further utilization of Thin Film Deposition and new surface modification technologies, has significantly expanded the options for solving tribological, adhesive application and corrosion protection challenges, among others.
