Jumpstarting its journey in 1986, HITEC Luxembourg S.A. has carved its way in the fields of testing technologies, space and satellite ground segment, traffic management, and mission critical ICT. However, HITEC is best known for its involvement in the ground segment of earth observation and telecommunication activities. The company possesses immense expertise in providing solutions that include individual subsystems like servo kits, stand-alone antennas, and complete ground stations.

HITEC is also known for its association in the development of a mobile satellite-based telecommunications platform designed to give emergency communication in disaster-hit areas. HITEC Luxembourg has used its space and satellite systems and IT competencies to develop specific mission-critical equipment. These solutions are used in circumstances where ease of communication, collaboration, or real-time situational awareness become critical for public safety.

“We are compliant with international standards and harbor a deep understanding of the satellite and space industry. This helps us forge better relationships with our clients,” says Yves Elsen, Managing Partner & CEO.

An enthusiasm for technological innovation and a culture of life-long learning allow HITEC to provide its new-age solutions to public and private organizations. For instance, HITEC Luxembourg’s mission-critical solutions are deployed by the United Nations and civil protection agencies to ensure the safety and security of people and assets during various missions. The company offers satellite ground terminals for reestablishing communications during long-term and rapid deployment missions. Each terminal is a high performance, two-way communication system providing bandwidth downlink for data, video, and voice transmission. The terminals have a pre-configured network with access control and are lightweight, easily transported, robust, and rapidly deployable.

HITEC Luxembourg provides products such as complete antennas, adaptable positioners, and components for space and satellite communication systems, installed at the ground level. For geostationary satellites and elliptic, medium, and low earth orbit satellites, the firm designs Limited Motions (LM) antennas and Full Motion (FM) antennas, respectively. While the LM antennas are suitable for geostationary and geosynchronous orbits, the FM antennas are designed for communicating with LEO (e.g., earth observation) and MEO (e.g., GNSS) satellites. HITEC’s antennas are low-maintenance and future-proof and available in diameters from 6 to 13 meters. All antennas can accommodate various feed systems and operate at different frequencies, depending on the application.

HITEC integrates RF equipment such as HPAs, LNAs, frequency converters, baseband, and test equipment into ground stations. It supervises and performs factory/onsite installation campaigns and tests as part of its turnkey offerings. HITEC also actively offers refurbishment, retrofit, or relocation of existing third-party antennas.

Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, HITEC is characterized by its agility to solve clients’ problems and is well positioned to bring innovative solutions to unique challenges. The company is ever-ready to meet the demand of national and international customers from both the private and public sectors.
