One of the company’s ground-breaking innovations—developed about 15 years ago—is a tool aptly named AIRPORTinsightTM. Operational in 13 major US airports, it is a surface management system designed to provide enhanced and shared situational awareness of airport surface operations and terminal activity. The tool provides secure communication for users in operations control centers, ramp towers, and gatehouses for efficient management and quick decision-making. Another one of Veracity’s solutions making waves in the aviation industry is SurfaceViewTM—an integrated radar, ADS-B, and camera-based system that provides surface situational awareness and security capabilities to small and mid-size airports without surface surveillance capabilities. “In addition to providing technical support and analytical services, we like to invest in products and technical innovations,” says Hai Tran, CEO and Founder of Veracity Engineering.

Although it is an engineering firm, Veracity’s team strives to implement the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in every service and system offered by the company. This outside-the-box approach is what lends the company leverage over its competitors, and is the facilitator for Veracitysecuring the Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract, sponsoredby the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and AFWERX in 2019. While the aviation industry has had heavy blows dealt to it due to COVID-19 and progress in the industry has slowed down considerably, Veracity, along with the FAA, continues to create and implement new technology for federal aviation agencies such as the TSA and the Air Force.

The FAA’s new FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS) Program is the successor to the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) program that provides the majority of the communications services used by the agency today. As the prime support contractor, Veracity works with the FAA to analyze the data trends of systems requirements, enterprise architecture, protocol specifications, and more, from the FTI to pick out suitable service providers for the new program. The organization is also a prime contractor bidding the Systems Engineering Technical Innovation Solutions (SETIS) program and has assembled a large team of reputable and influential aviation companies with proven capabilities across the SETIS Statement of Work. Veracity is the current incumbent prime contractor on the SETIS predecessor contract called the Systems Engineering 2025 (SE2025). “With the current rise in need for pharmaceutical and other remote delivery needs, Veracity aims to improve upon UAS (Unarmed Aerial Systems) technology through the SE 2025 contract,” adds Tran. In an effort to help air-to-ground communications facilities maintain a track record of system parts, Veracity has also devised a scan tool that connects warehouses from which the parts are delivered. The solution tracks everything about the components, from their lifecycle to the lowest replacement unit (LRU). Not only is the solution cost-efficient, but it also helps users better understand why aproduct fails to provide the desired output.
