Bridging the Security Gap in Active Threats

Every organization prepares for the alarms they expect like data breaches, financial disruptions, and operational breakdowns. But the threat that most often catches them off guard is sudden violence in the workplace, classroom, or public space. In recent years, active shooter incidents have grown in both frequency and complexity, exposing a stark reality: many organizations remain dangerously unprepared. Despite advancements in technology and infrastructure, human safety often remains off the radar.

To bridge this critical gap, Active Shooter Response (ASR) Solutions steps in.

From businesses in aerospace and defense to universities and medical facilities, the company offers comprehensive security training solutions to protect their most important asset: people. By directly engaging with security or emergency management teams, it assesses each client’s distinct needs, identifies vulnerabilities and implements personalized strategies to strengthen safety.

“At the heart of what we do is empowering people to act with confidence under pressure. Even if they never face an active shooter, the skills to manage stress and stay calm could one day save a life,” says Kyle Sproles, Special Forces Green Beret. “That’s what ‘For the Preservation of Life’ truly means in action.”

ASR Solutions turns readiness into action with two core offerings to address the immediate threat of violence and the preventive steps that reduce risk.

The first program centers on run-hide-fight preparedness for universities, corporate centers and other large organizations. It equips participants to assess their surroundings, escape danger and protect staff, students and visitors during an active shooter incident. Special emphasis is placed on high-risk areas, such as those near military bases, government centers, and defense sectors where insider threats and other violent attacks are frequent.
  • Our motto at Active Shooter Response Solutions is ‘For the Preservation of Life.’ Every decision we make, every action we take, is driven by the purpose of saving lives. If something doesn't align with that intent, we don’t pursue it. After all, there is no greater mission than to save as many lives as possible.

The other line of training is aimed at armed responders, including federal and local law enforcement, military, private security teams and church security volunteers. They are prepared to move decisively toward the threat and neutralize it as quickly and safely as possible.

For both tracks, training is reinforced through full-scale violent incident drills in collaboration with local law enforcement and first responders. These drills simulate real-world scenarios to identify vulnerabilities and enhance coordination and response times. Each rehearsal concludes with an after-action review to refine safety plans. Even for those who may never face an active shooter, the training equips participants with stress management techniques for any emergency, from car accidents or 911 calls. The goal is to ensure everyone can respond with confidence and clarity in life-threatening situations. Beyond training solutions, ASR Solutions also provides site security assessments to help organizations proactively identify and mitigate risks.

A recent university assessment shows ASR Solutions’ practical, detail-focused approach. What began as a routine safety review quickly revealed a major vulnerability: an unsecured door leading to a room with high-value equipment and university computers. Inside, the team found login credentials posted on a sticky note, providing direct access to the campus network, along with keys to every residence hall and dorm room, an overlooked risk with serious safety and liability implications. ASR Solutions immediately worked with the institution to secure the area, revise access protocols, protect network entry points, and update key-control procedures, resulting in swift, meaningful improvements.

Fueled by that same purpose, ASR Solutions’ team of seasoned professionals continues to spread life-saving knowledge wherever danger looms. Sproles is a Special Forces Green Beret and executive protection specialist as well as a firearms and evasive driving instructor. Green Berets often serve as first responders to embassy threats worldwide. He has conducted sensitive global security assessments and 11 years of scenario-based training. His team includes former special operators, SWAT officers, paramedics, and patrol officers, many with active shooter response experience, including surviving the Las Vegas Mandalay Bay attack.

With a proactive approach to emergency planning and real-world training solutions, ASR Solutions is closing security gaps and emphasizing immediate actions that can mean the difference between life and death.

After all, when violence erupts without warning, only preparation saves lives; and that is the mission ASR Solutions was built for.
