Redefining the Standards in High-Speed Interceptors

CMN NAVAL stands at the forefront of European naval shipbuilding, having delivered over 3,500 vessels to 48 navies worldwide. While the Group’s portfolio spans frigates, corvettes, offshore patrol vessels, and fast missile craft, CMN NAVAL has achieved global recognition for their high-speed interceptors. The HSI32 and its unmanned counterpart, the UHSI32, reflect the Group’s commitment to performance, adaptability, and mission-ready reliability in modern maritime security.

The growing demand for high-speed interceptors and unmanned surface vessels (USVs) reflects a global shift towards faster, smarter, and more cost-effective maritime operations. Navies today require platforms that unite speed, autonomy, and endurance – a balance that CMN NAVAL has perfected through the development of the HSI32 and UHSI32. The renowned HSI32 has earned worldwide trust, with more than 65 units delivered to strengthen maritime security, enhance surveillance, and enable rapid responses to evolving threats at sea.

A reference in its class, the HSI32 showcases CMN NAVAL’s mastery of speed, endurance, and seakeeping. Designed for rapid deployment and operational versatility, it delivers superior capability across coastal surveillance, interception, and search-and- rescue missions, and operations against asymmetric threats. Building on this proven platform, CMN NAVAL developed the UHSI32, an unmanned evolution that extends endurance, mitigates risk to human life, and takes a definitive step into the future of maritime security.

Turning Innovation into Operational Reality

Innovation at CMN NAVAL is driven by proven naval designs, continuous research and development, rigorous systems engineering, and thorough testing. The UHSI32, derived from the sea-proven HSI32, embodies the Group’s philosophy: transforming a proven platform into an unmanned surface vessel (USV) that delivers operational autonomy, intelligence, and connectivity.

The UHSI32 delivers advanced autonomous capabilities, including pattern autonomy, dynamic collision avoidance, and secure over-the-horizon connectivity, through a fully integrated command-and-control system that ensures comprehensive situational awareness and precise mission execution. Operated from a shore-based command centre, it can autonomously conduct patrol, surveillance, interception, and special operations in complex littoral zones and maritime environments, demonstrating real-time obstacle avoidance and adaptive responsiveness under varying operational conditions.

By integrating artificial intelligence into mission systems, the UHSI32 allows navies to shift focus from traditional combat training to leveraging intelligent technologies in daily operations, enhancing efficiency, responsiveness and interoperability. According to Abdallah Doumit, Deputy Commercial Director at CMN NAVAL, “The strong demand for the HSI32 and the breakthrough achieved with the UHSI32 signal a clear direction for the future of naval missions: Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) operations and interoperability.”

This vision was realised during a recent demonstration with the French Navy, where the UHSI32 Mk II autonomously intercepted and escorted a moving target while navigating obstacles in real-time. The vessel’s performance validated its autonomous command architecture and confirmed CMN NAVAL’s ability to adapt proven designs into unmanned platforms aligned with evolving operational demands.

Shaping the Future of Naval Operations

“As technology advances, the sphere of interoperability will only continue to grow, allowing navies to integrate diverse platforms and capabilities into a unified operational network,” explains Abdallah Doumit, Deputy Commercial Director at CMN NAVAL.

As navies worldwide seek platforms that deliver reliability today and adaptability for the future, CMN NAVAL stands ready to lead that transformation. Its high-speed interceptors mark the beginning of a new era in which speed, intelligence, and innovation operate in unison to enhance maritime security.

Sustaining Readiness across the Seas

Beyond vessel design and delivery, CMN NAVAL provides comprehensive post-delivery support through Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), maintenance, and refit programmes, as well as Transfer-of-Technology (ToT) initiatives. Its ILS framework integrates maintenance management, supply-chain control, documentation and configuration management into a unified software environment, ensuring operational continuity and fleet readiness.

These initiatives underscore CMN NAVAL’s commitment to long-term partnership—ensuring every vessel, from high-speed interceptor to offshore patrol vessel and corvette, remains mission-ready throughout its service life.
