In the constantly evolving business landscape, a company’s ability to adapt to the times and chart its course is a sign of its resilience and potential for long-term success. Nowhere is this truer than in the fiercely competitive defense manufacturing sector, where companies must not only deliver quality products but also navigate the choppy waters of shifting markets and changing technologies.

GSE Dynamics, a full-service engineering, aerospace, and defense manufacturing company, has not only weathered these challenges but thrived in a niche market it has carved out for over half a century. As CEO and owner Anne D. Shybunko-Moore explains, the secret to their success lies in their ability to attract top talent and adapt to the industry’s ever-changing demands.

Located on Long Island, GSE Dynamics houses two state-of-the-art facilities for advanced manufacturing and engineering capabilities. From welding and mechanical assembly to conventional machining and quality inspection, their team possesses a wide range of skills and expertise that enables them to manufacture complex mechanical and structural assemblies for warfighters.

In addition, their second facility is equipped with two autoclaves for metal bonding and other fiberglass and composite structures, cleanrooms, and machine shops with CNC machines that can produce a variety of parts in both size and complexity.

With a focus on quality and efficiency, GSE Dynamics has built a reputation as a trusted partner in the defense manufacturing industry. Their willingness to work with the Department of Defense on urgent projects and their ability to deliver high-level engineering and manufacturing services for lower quantities has made them a go-to choice for clients in the sector. And with over 50 years of experience, GSE Dynamics is a testament to the power of investing in talent and capabilities to ensure long-term success.

  • We’ve managed to bring in talent and adapt to the changing market with advanced and additive manufacturing and higher-level engineering

While the company specializes in C-5 and C-130 legacy and bomber aircraft, it has stayed competitive by advancing with different aspects of technology by using other composite materials for some of the newer programs and airframes. It has translated its capability into the shipbuilding industry to cater to the Navy’s requirements and has become a critical supplier for them. The secret to such a crossover from aerospace into shipbuilding is the engineering ability of the team coupled with communication skills. When there is an urgent requirement, the team can rise to the occasion and be responsive and flexible to respond quickly to the call. For example, Northrop Grumman requested services from GSE Dynamics when their previous manufacturer could not provide a particular part for E-2D. GSE Dynamics successfully manufactured this part for Northrop Grumman’s E-2D, and broadened its involvement with Northrop Grumman as a critical supplier of various airframes.

To deliver such efficacious results and thrive in the industry for more than 50 years, a company must complement talent and experience. Over the years, GSE Dynamics has attracted talents with strong experience and skilled on legacy aircraft. Practicing mutual learning from talents from different generations becomes key to staying relevant and competitive today. GSE Dynamics has created an environment where employees can hone their skills and learn from others.
