After 13 years as a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret serving in some of the world's most unforgiving and violent environments, conducting embassy threat response, site security assessments, and executive protection — I came home to a country dealing with a crisis I knew I was uniquely equipped to help address. Active threat incidents in schools, workplaces, churches, and universities continue to rise. And the gap between what most organizations know about threat response and what they need to know is significant — sometimes tragically so.
Everything we do at ASR Solutions is guided by a single phrase: For the Preservation of Life.
It's a mission statement that drives every training we design, every campus we walk, and every organization we serve.
Who We Are
Our team is a group of practitioners who have lived through real active threats. Our instructors include Special Operations veterans, SWAT officers, paramedics with real active threat response experience, and individuals who survived the deadliest mass shooting in American history. That depth of experience fundamentally changes the quality of what we deliver, especially compared to the abysmally boring and overpriced training in the market today.
I founded this company because I believe that the organizations responsible for the safety of others such as universities, hospitals, churches, corporations, law enforcement agencies, deserve training that is grounded in reality, not liability-driven theater.
In 2026, Aerospace and Defense Review recognized ASR Solutions as the Top Active Threat Response Training Solution — a recognition we are proud of, and one that reflects the trust our clients have placed in us across the country.
What We Do
ASR Solutions serves two distinct client populations, each with purpose-built training programs.
For civilian organizations (universities, K-12 schools, corporations, medical facilities, and faith communities) we deliver our BECON™ active threat response training: a practical, memorable framework built around Barricade, Escape, Control, Oppose, and Notify. BECON™ goes far beyond the outdated "Run, Hide, Fight" model most organizations still rely on. It gives faculty, staff, and students real options — a decision framework they can actually apply under stress. We also conduct full-scale campus vulnerability assessments, identify structural and procedural gaps, and develop site-specific emergency response protocols. For institutions ready to test their plans, we offer full active threat response rehearsals that simulate real-world scenarios with role players and force-on-force encounters.
For armed professionals (law enforcement agencies, military units, private security companies, church security teams, and departments of public safety - often unarmed) we deliver scenario-based tactical training ranging from 1-day full-spectrum active threat response courses to 3-day programs that incorporate live fire range work, close-quarters battle (CQB) training, and realistic training scenarios using simulation firearms. These programs are designed to expose gaps in individual and team capabilities and quickly close them.
Organizations often bring us in because something has changed — a threat assessment raised a flag, a student expressed concern, a critical incident happened nearby, or leadership finally decided that "we haven't had an incident" is not the same as "we are prepared."
We also understand the institutional realities our clients navigate. Grant funding opportunities exist for safety training at educational institutions. Liability exposure is real and quantifiable. And the reputational stakes for an unprepared response to a critical incident have never been higher. Our proposals are designed to work within procurement processes, and our engagements are built to deliver results that administrators can point to.
Who We Serve
We work with colleges and universities, K-12 schools, corporations, faith communities, medical facilities, law enforcement agencies, military units, and private security organizations. We have trained teams across the country — from large state universities to small private colleges, from urban corporate campuses to rural faith communities that face longer law enforcement response times and fewer resources.
Every engagement is customized. We do not deliver the same training twice, because no two organizations have the same people, the same facilities, or the same threat environment.
An Invitation
If you lead or serve an organization responsible for the safety of others, I would welcome the conversation. To help you understand where you stand and what it would take to be genuinely prepared.
Preparation is a decision to value the lives in your care.
