Red Wing Aviation is an operating partner of Vista, the largest charter group and the world’s first private aviation ecosystem, covering all key aspects of business air travel. Combining the stability of Vista with its thirty-plus years of operations and expertise in the MRO space, Red Wing Aviation makes a difference for clients with its crew of in-house professionals who ensure a high level of consistency and quality across the fleet.

“Vista has MRO licenses across the globe, which grants us priority access to parts and enables us to act as a one-stop shop for everything ranging from interiors to scheduled maintenance,” says Nick van der Meer, chief operating officer of Vista.

The Red Wing Aviation team does not conduct maintenance operations for third parties and exclusively works as part of the Vista group to maintain the Vista Members’ fleet, primarily the Citation Ultra and XL aircraft.

The team has received an additional type rating and Federal Aviation Administration approval for service and continued maintenance on the Citation X aircraft. Operating this way has alleviated challenges relating to the quality of work and volatile pricing.

Red Wing Aviation has attracted some of the best talent in the industry as an opportunity to work on aircraft that have the level of standard as Global 7500s. As a group, it has made significant investments in its global infrastructure, ensuring passengers have the best aircraft available. Vista will continue its investments in an extensive refurbishment program across the entire fleet. This requires consistent scheduling of standard maintenance and a refurbishment program to update legacy aircraft. At present, the team averages a three-week turnaround to successfully transform a Citation interior to match its newly delivered Global 7500s.

As part of its investments, Red Wing Aviation has built a new hangar with a large interior shop, which has allowed the team to expand and work more comfortably in the new space. Working efficiently also means the team has extended support from all over the world. This goes down to the finest details in order to refurbish used aircraft to the exact standards of a new delivery.

With an extensive in-house network in the MRO space, Red Wing Aviation has opened the opportunity for experts, from maintenance to crew, to travel across the globe to support demand as needed. This has also been a huge attraction to top talent in the industry.

Red Wing Aviation also has a mobile repair team (MRT) that works on demand to ensure clients’ journey remains uninterrupted and on schedule. These highly skilled technicians cover areas such as Teterboro and White Plains, as well as other locations on an ad hoc basis, should a temporary need arise. As Red Wing Aviation continues to grow, the team seeks to expand into new territories to place MRTs, ensuring the Vista Members’ fleet maintains the highest level of standard anywhere and anytime.
