Corey L. Trusty has built a distinguished career as a space operations and military strategy expert within the United States Air Force and Space Force. Over two decades, he has shaped mission-critical operations, led international space strategy efforts, and played a key role in cultivating the next generation of military leadership. His experience is vast and strikingly diverse—spanning ballistic missile defense, cyber operations, international cooperation, talent management, and contingency planning.

Trusty’s career began with operational roles that provided a firm foundation in space systems and control. As a Crew Commander and later Assistant Operations Officer at the 76th Space Control Squadron, he directed operations to ensure space superiority for U.S. and allied forces. His early experiences demanded technical proficiency and tactical leadership, which he demonstrated consistently in high-stakes, mission-driven environments. From overseeing ballistic missile early warning systems in Greenland to managing space control activities at Peterson AFB, his operational acumen helped ensure the integrity and readiness of U.S. space capabilities.

His responsibilities expanded when he became the Director of Operations for the National Reconnaissance Office’s Office of Space Launch at Vandenberg Air Force Base. As his career progressed, Trusty moved into increasingly strategic and global roles. His work as the HQ USAFE-AFAFRICA Command Space Weapons Officer placed him at the center of theater-level operations across Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia. Coordinating with NATO and U.S. Combatant Commands, he aligned space operations with broader military objectives, often within complex multinational contexts. As Chief of Colonel Talent Management, he advised the Chief of Space Operations and other senior leaders on officer assignments, retirements, and development pathways. His work ensured that highly qualified Guardians were matched with mission-critical roles, directly supporting the Space Force’s evolving needs in a rapidly changing domain.

He currently serves as the Human Resources Military Deputy within the International Affairs Space Division, where he helps shape U.S. space strategy on the global stage. In this capacity, he supports the Department of the Air Force’s engagement with NATO, the Department of State, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He leads the coordination of a 22-member division, managing everything from international space cooperation agreements to foreign military sales and the export of space systems. Trusty’s role includes preparing senior U.S. leaders—such as the Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Space Operations— for engagements with foreign counterparts. This responsibility highlights the trust placed in his judgment and diplomatic skills.
